Layl attended Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, OH and received her B.F.A. in Illustration, magnum cum laude. Current themes in her polymer clay work relate to motherhood, women as outgoing fun spirits and just plain whimsy. Every piece she creates is one of a kind though some follow similar themes. In addition she instructs polymer cane making classes.
She is well known for her Silly Millies and teaches classes at Clay Squared to Infinity.
