Events

Exhibits. Members have the chance to display their works in a number of locations in the Twin Cities area. One frequent exhibit space is the Textile Center itself. Past exhibits have included ornaments, and clocks and other time-themed pieces. We have also had pieces displayed in the Textile Center’s display booth at the State Fair. The guild regularly exhibits in many community spaces, such as the North Regional Library in Hennepin County.

Demonstrations for the public. We annually demonstrate working with clay at the State Fair Creative Activities Building. We have also demonstrated at local art fairs, including Powderhorn and St. Kate’s.

We also demonstrate at other locations as time permits and by member interest and availability.

Sales Opportunities. Members participate in art events such as “Art-A-Whirl” and exhibits, such as at the Bloomington Art Center, that provide opportunities not only to show but also to sell their work.

Service work. The guild regularly participates in the Bottles of Hope effort by creating polymer clay covered bottles for cancer patients. We also do Beads of Courage for children undergoing chemotherapy.
